Smith & Wesson Lend Lease .38 S&W calibre revolver .38 Revolver

If you are reading this you will probably know as much as me about the Lend Lease scheme in which the USA supplied weapons to us in World War 2. The weapons were stamped "property of the USA government" and we paid handsomely for them and I believe eventually paid of our war debt to the USA 60 years later.

Smith & Wesson produced superlative revolvers and in fact patented the first viable breech loading cartridge revolver back in the mid 19th Century.

This revolver has the USA property stamp, British proofs and a neat "WBO" stamped on the heel of the butt. The revolver cylinder turns when the trigger is pulled and the cylinder opens to accept inert rounds. This is a decent looking revolver and has a August 2023 proof house deactivation certificate.

An interesting and evocative revolver for the WW2 collector and worthy of some research.
