Decorated Spanish Toledo Dagger. 19830. Daggers

This type of dagger - known as the Spanish defence dagger - was made especially in the cities of Toledo and Albacete, from the 18th century until the beginning of the 20th. This lovely 14.25cm blade is decorated with scrolling foliage and etched with a panel ‘FABRICA DE TOLEDO’ its characteristic hilt is decorated with panels of scrolling foliage. It has a spherical pommel and is contained in its steel scabbard decorated to match. All in very good aged condition with a nice patina throughout.
