Create my profile now!KA-BAR combat knives were first adopted by the United States Marine Corps (USMC) in November 1942. This is a very good original example of the Ka-bar MK 2 Type II knife complete with leather scabbard. The knife has a sharp blackened 7" carbon steel clip point blade, correct Type II pinned pommel and compressed leather-washer handle (1st pattern Knives have a threaded nut at the pommel, see pages 86-88 of U.S. Military Knives By Cole). The ricasso is crisply stamped by the manufacturer 'KA-BAR OLEAN N.Y' on one side and the reverse ‘USMC’. It is complete with original leather scabbard which has a retaining strap with press stud fastener and large belt loop. The front of the scabbard is impressed ‘KA-BAR’ & ‘USMC’ within separate panels and central USMC impressed badge roundel. The rear of the scabbard has very lightly scratched indistinct letters most likely the name or initials of the USMC soldier issued with this knife. All leather, rivets and stitching of the scabbard are intact. The tip of the scabbard is holed for thigh cord. The belt loop has a thin plaited leather band attached. The price includes UK delivery.
