Create my profile now!William Dudley was an English Gunsmith recorded at Weaman Street, Birmingham between 1817 & 1858 (see page 35 of English Gunmakers by Bailey & Nie). This is an excellent Victorian percussion pocket pistol with revolving, over & under octagonal barrels. It's octagonal steel barrels are 2” in length (5 ¾” overall). Its nickel plated steel frame is undamaged with much original finish. The barrels are stamped with Victorian black powder proof marks. The barrels are smooth bore. The bores are clean. One barrel flat is signed by the maker ‘W. Dudley’. The action has foliate engraved decoration. The pistol's bag shaped Walnut grip is undamaged and inlaid void silver escutcheon. The pistol has a safety feature forward of the trigger guard which consists of a hooked flange which prevents the percussion cap on the unfired bottom barrel from being struck by accident and it has a sliding safety bolt. The pistol has a folding trigger & cocks and dry fires crisply. The revolving barrel action is smooth & firm. The price for this nice vest / pocket pistol includes UK delivery.
