Description

Largest selection of genuine antique weapons for sale in UK. See our website andrewbottomley.com Ref 3616. A scarce English single barrel .60 cal Percussion belt pistol made by HOLLIS of CHELTENHAM. Circa 1840. The pistol engraved with the makers name HOLLIS CHELTENHAM on the octagonal 4.5 inch barrel. William Hollis had a workshop on the High Street, in Cheltenham circa 1829-1856. The pistol is fitted with a spring belt hook and a swivel captive rammer. Finely chequered walnut butt with a oblong escutcheon fitted to the rear. A fine chisselled lions head butt-cap. British proof marks stamped to the breech and barrel. Fine engraving overall. Action in very good working order with a strong spring. In good overall condition with a few minor dings and scratches. Ref 3616. This is an obsolete antique item and is sold as a collectors item only. No Licence is required in the United Kingdom.
