Webley Mark 1, .177 Calibre Air Pistol. VINTAGE 1945- 1958,

Sn: 2426  dating it between 1946 and 1958

This is a nice Post WW2 Webley Mark I Air Pistol. The pistol is stamped on the end of the cylinder with number "2426" which I assume to be the serial number.
It has the correct Post WW2 milled barrel section
to assist grip for cocking and grips with Webley roundels.
It has "Oil" with a curved arrow on the left side of the cylinder together with " The Webley Mark 1 Made in England".
Left side just below the fore sight it is stamped with ".22 MK1".
The cylinder is stamped on the right side

"Webley & Scott Ltd Birmingham 4"
(Birmingham 4 was the Webley Pre 1958 address).
It is also stamped "Webley Patents".  It retains it's original blue finish.   Pretty mint, beautiful condition.
IT would be £495 due to condition but the cocking arm

(also called the show) is missing so for repairs at £250

Shoots well,  Really good condition for age  £475

Lincoln Jeffries RARE PRE WAR. BREAK BARREL .177 AIR RIFLE   £295

B.S.A. Lincoln Jeffries Patent Air rifles were introduced in 1905 -1908.
There are few deciferable marks : '813' by the trigger.

and what looks like 'L3 L33' Just forward of the trigger and the Lincoln Jeffries address on the stock.
Straight Stock.  PUSH BUTTON RELEASE break barrel .177 Calibre.  Rifled barrel. Open Sights.
Works fine for its age, cocks and shoots with no issues.
Before L.J. perfected the tap loading underlever, he like many British gunsmiths modified to varying degrees imported break barrel guns and then sold them marked up as their own products as our industry was very small in this area.
The Lincoln & 'H' or Heavy model were produced between 1905-1908.  This is a break action variant.
This example of the Lincoln Jeffries has the characteristics and markings of the Lincoln model apart from the fact that it is break action, rather than underlever as illustrated and described on page 17 of The Collector's Guide To Air Rifles By Hiller.
The metal work is worn and the chequered butt is cracked above the trigger both sides.

 It measures 42.5” overall.
It has a blade foresight and ‘v’ notch plate rear sight.
It loads and fires correctly with a good spring action.
The serial No 813 is above the adjustable trigger.
The dark Walnut stock and chequered straight hand grip have age related marks,
'LINCOLN JEFFRIES
121 STEELHOUSE LANE

BIRMINGHAM' is imprinted LHS of the Wooden Walnut Stock
