Create my profile now!The Mauser, Model 712, Schnellfeuer ( Rapid Fire) was manufactured by Mauser Werke in Germany from 1932 to 1938 (see page 317 of Axis Pistols Vol 2 By Still). It was the fully automatic version of the model 1896 (C96). Inter war large numbers of broom handle Mausers were ordered by Governments of many countries including China. This Chinese Government contract Mauser, Model 712, Schnellfeuer is in excellent condition. It has undamaged metalwork with even patina throughout. It has the correct grooved ‘broom handle’ wood grips. It has a 5 ½” barrel, blade shaped block fore sight and adjustable tangent rear sight. The right side of the frame features the correct thumb operated fire mode selector switch and safety catch. The top of the frame is stamped 'Waffenfabrik Mauser Oberndorf A/N'. The frame is also signed ‘'Waffenfabrik Mauser Oberndorf A.Neckar D.R.P.u.A.P.’. The pistol is serial number 59095 & is complete with original magazine. The base of the magazine is crisply stamped with the Mauser Trademark. The butt is fitted with military lanyard ring. Deactivated to UK specification in 2009 the pistol’s slide locks back, its magazine can be removed and it cocks & dry fires. These pistols were issued to Infantry troops in a wooden holster that doubled as a shoulder stock. Our holster rig is in excellent condition. The wood shoulder stock holster has the correct knurled steel button which opens the hinged lid. The hinge plate has a fixed belt bar. The wood stock holster / stock has the correct steel slide with release catch that allows the holster to be attached to the grip frame recess of the pistol. The lid of the holster / stock has Chinese marks and number that matches the pistol. The holster has its original leather belt rig. The rig has the correct magazine pouch with flap cover and stud fastener to the front. One side of the rig is slotted for its original wood handled steel cleaning rod. The tool is present & held in place by a leather strap with stud fastener. The rig also has a leather retaining strap secured by a stud fastener that fits over the top of the wood stock / holster. There are no visible maker or Date marks on the leather. All leather & stitching are intact. The price for this rare pistol with holster rig includes deactivation certificate and UK delivery.
