The Colt Model 1908 Pocket Hammerless is a variant introduced five years later in .380 ACP calibre. Approximately 570,000 Colt Pocket Hammerless pistols were produced in different variants from 1903 to 1945. Some were issued to US Army and US Air Force General officers through the 1970s. The pistol measures just under 7” overall with a 3 ¾” barrel. It has a safety catch which locks the slide and nice undamaged grips with the iconic 'Colt' legend and 'Rearing Colt' emblem. The metal work has even patina with just scuffs to be expected to the blue finish. The left of the slide is nicely stamped with the Colt , Hartford, CT, USA address and 1897-1903 patent details together with the 'rearing Colt' logo. The pistol’s serial number is 85658 which is in the serial number range for 1911-1912 production. The right of the slide is stamped ' Colt Automatic Calibre .380 Hammerless'. Deactivated to early UK specification in 1996 the pistol cocks and dry fires and the magazine can be removed. The British Officer’s brown leather holster has a full flap cover with single brass stud and has a retaining strap with eyelet stitched to the body. The rear belt loop is crisply impressed with manufacturer’s roundel ‘Army & Navy CSL London’. All leather and stitching are clean & intact. The price includes deactivation certificate & UK delivery.
