This is an unused BSA Meteor 40th Anniversary Special Commemorative Edition .177 air rifle with its original cardboard box, synthetic protective sleeve and packaging. The BSA Meteor is a series of break barrel spring powered rifle first made in Birmingham, UK, in 1959 by The Birmingham Small Arms Company and the first BSA air rifle engineered to fit a telescopic sight. It is one of the world’s bestselling air weapons with over 2 million sold worldwide. Marketed as an introductory rifle for plinking, hunting and firearm training as a replacement for the BSA Cadet, it is available in .177 (4.5 mm) and .22 (5.5 mm) calibre with standard or carbine length barrels. This rifle shows no signs of use whatsoever, it was more than likely bought as a collectors piece and placed in storage. The serial number is ‘ZE 13104’ which makes it a Mk6. The cylinder is inscribed ‘1959 – 1999 40th Anniversary Special Commemorative Edition’ with BSA Meteor between the scope grooves. The stock appears to be Walnut. The original box, sleeve and packaging are in very good condition also. The lever cocking and its loading and firing action works perfectly. The price for this rare piece includes UK delivery.
