These knives were manufactured in a production run of only 1000 blades in 1981 to commemorate the 40th Anniversary of the formation of the Special Air Service in 1941. This particular cased knife was bought from Crown Swords in 1981 by a British Army Captain and it is accompanied by the original crown swords sales receipts, information documents and retail shipping packaging. The knife is in near mint condition. It has a beautiful blade etched on both sides. One side is etched with ‘Crown Swords’ manufacturer's name and legend together with para jump wings and imagery of troops parachuting from an aircraft. The reverse has scroll banners ‘22nd Special Air Service Regiment’ with SAS winged dagger ‘Who Dares Wins’ Regiment badge. The cross guard is stamped ‘SAS’ and with limited edition number ‘1000’ (of 1000). The 24ct gold plated 3rd pattern ribbed handle and cross guard retain all of their original finish. The dagger is contained in its original wooden case covered with black leatherette material. The case has a hinged lid the top of which has the SAS winged dagger badge. The case has 2 clasp fasteners. The inside of the case is lined with red felt & silk. It is contoured to snugly fit the dagger. The box contains the dagger’s limited edition authenticity certificates and registration card. The price includes UK delivery. Sn 21398
