The British 20mm Hispano-Suiza (20x110) HS 404 aircraft cannon which first entered service in 1941. The gun was fitted to a variety of British aircraft including the Supermarine Spitfire, Hawker Hurricane, Westland Whirlwind and Bristol Beaufighter and Hawker Typhoon as standard equipment or an upgrade of the Browning .303 machine gun. The round was later used in the De Havilland Vampire and Gloster Meteor fighter aircraft after Worls War 2. This is a copper bodied (anti-magnetic) dummy round with a steel base that has been nickel plated. The round is headstamped 20MM 50 (1950 date) JES.
