Create my profile now!INERT DEACTIVATED. This is an unfired and complete British 105MM Howitzer (105x371R) Drill high explosive round for the British 105mm light towed field gun. This gun was introduced in service with the British Army in 1975 and replaced the 105 mm pack howitzer. This unfired round consists of a brass cartridge case which is headstamped 105MM M14 LOT 9 ECC (Elswick Cartridge Company) 1962 (date). The cartridge base is stencilled in white DRILL L1A1. The case is also stencilled on the side in white INERT CY70 (R.O.F Chorley 1970 date). The dark blue painted steel projectile has a copper driving band and is stamped above the driving band RLB LOT 986A 1968 105MM M1. The projectile is also stencilled in white 105 HOWR DRILL on one side and CY69 (R.O.F Chorley 1969 date) on the other side. The fuse is stamped round its circumference FUSE P.D M557 .05SEC EMI/65 AM CX107 and SQ DELAY on the delay lever. The fuse is also stencilled in white INERT.
