The brass cartridge case has a brass percussion cap and is headstamped 1A,N3 - Click here to reveal phone number - D 7II 1896 with an anchor (1896 date) and a letter y within a lozenge shape. The solid shot steel projectile has a brass driving band and a brass centering band above it. The base of the projectile is stamped TAN 10-11 178 and 2 symbols either side of an anchor.
