This is an excellent Cold War / Vietnam War Era Chinese Jianshe Arsenal (State Factory 26) Semi Automatic carbine (these rifles were a variant of the Russian Simonov SKS-45 7.62 x 39mm, Semi Automatic rifle designed by Sergei Gavrilovich Simonov. Production of the Russian SKS commenced in 1946. The weapons were Widely used throughout the Communist block and China who began producing their own variants designated the Type 56 which saw service throughout the Cold War and Vietnam war. It is 40 ½” overall length with a 20” barrel and has a hinged box magazine. The gun retains most of its original blued finish and has all its original wood work with just knocks bumps and bruises to be expected . The gun has the correct folding bayonet, steel butt plate with hinged trap, sling swivel, sling bar, shrouded fore sight and adjustable rear sight. The left side of the breech has the triangular arsenal mark with 26 of the Jianshe Arsenal 26 (also known as State Factory 296) and Soviet/ Chinese script letters together with serial number 22005285 which dates it to 1956 – 1958. The number 05258 is repeated on the bolt, breech housing, magazine and the wooden butt. The 12” clean cruciform bayonet with typical chisel tip folds and locks in place as it should. Deactivated to UK/EU specification in 2023, the guns bolt cycles, the trigger moves and the magazine hinges downwards. The price includes UK delivery and UK/EU deactivation certificate. D 5985
